She will travel with you until the journey ends. There are times in our lives when each of us must make a choice to venture into the unknown or to take the easy way back. Allison is first and foremost an adventurer. Her love of travel has distilled into a commitment to see the journey through to the finish line. Never one to shy away from exploration and learning, Allison’s clients know if she doesn’t know the answer, she will be sure to find it. While the road may have ups and downs, Allison isn’t afraid to travel the road ahead with her clients and see them through the hazards. Her clients know she truly cares about them and facilitating their success.

Education for all. Allison’s love of learning began at a young age, with both of her parents being school teachers. That has continued as now she gets to learn how companies do what they do best and discover how she can support them as they continue grow and improve. She has been able to transfer that love of learning to a love of teaching. One of the most rewarding things for Allison is seeing the lightbulb go off as something new clicks and someone understands something they didn’t before. Allison spearheaded our education offerings, curating content for accounting professionals in the insurance industry and finding a way to make it available to everyone through our website. Her commitment to insurance education is evident in her work as our NAIC specialist. If anyone has questions about insurance accounting, Allison is the one we ask.

See you at the top. While Allison loves learning and adventure, her true love is achieving goals. She chose Larson for the “small firm” culture and stayed for the people and the opportunities for both personal and professional progression. Rising to the level of partner after starting as an intern is no small task and illustrates her ability to improve and achieve using our Expectation Agreement program. There is a difference between being a goal-setter and a goal-achiever, and Allison is firmly in the achiever category. Whether it is visiting all seven continents (she has visited 4!) or experiencing as many major-league baseball parks as she can, once Allison decides to do something, it will be done. Despite her drive and motivation to succeed, Allison brings a collaborative effort to her audit clients. She approaches the audit less as a box to check but more as a resource for success for her clients throughout the year. Her willingness to help clients achieve more doesn’t stop when the audit ends.

What I Do

Allison currently serves as the leader of our Insurance Industry practice group. She is also the head of the internal training committee and the education committee leader. She has over 10 years of experience in insurance accounting. While she started her career as an intern in our firm, she has grown her reputation and expertise working on our most important insurance clients and her position as partner is the culmination of that training. Her grasp of statutory accounting is impressive, and she compiles our statutory updates each quarter from the NAIC.

Who I Serve

Allison serves clients in the insurance industry in the property & casualty, health, and MGA spaces, as well as captive insurance companies and 401k audit clients. She is adept in all aspects of auditing and managing audit work.

Little did we know:

Of all the places she’s been in the world, her favorite is New York City. She loves that she can see a Broadway show, visit a world class museum, and take in a Yankees game all in one weekend. But, please, don’t think she’s a Yankees fan by any stretch of the imagination.

She is both a world-class quilter and baker. She has cracked the code of one of baking’s most difficult tasks: delicious gluten-free sourdough bread. Is there nothing she can’t do?

Her proudest title is that of aunt to her nieces and nephews.
